For the NORSAT-1 satellite mission, the CLARA radiometer instrument was developed under an ESA contract.

In contrast to the DARA instrument, CLARA is a lightweight radiometer designed as payload for a small satellite. The measurement principle bases on DARA instrument but with reduced hardware features. From the software perspective, the CLARA instrument could profit from the DARA phase B development and could be further improved in matter of robustness and efficiency (cycle consumption).
