Beamformer

We have experience in various types of beamforming algorithms and spatial post-processing algorithms that can be adapted to customer requirements. Different microphone configurations are possible, such as end-fire arrays, broad-side arrays, 2D / 3D microphone structures.

Beamforming can be seen as a special type of filtering, where certain directions are suppressed and certain directions are emphasised. Modern beamforming algorithms typically do this in an adaptive way to compensate for microphone inaccuracies and microphone displacements.

The spatial post-processing allows to improve the audio signal such that the directivity of the beamformer is enhanced or that diffuse sound is suppressed, like reverberation.
